Advertised in the Boston evening post (T. & J. Fleet), Nov. 30, 1772: "Ames's almanack for the year 1773. The only true and correct almanacks from my copy, are those printed by R. Draper, Edes & Gill, and T. & J. Fleet. Nath. Ames. Dedham, Dec. [sic] 18, 1772." Advertised Dec 14 as "now in the press." Publication announced in the issue of Dec. 21, giving the names of the publishers and repeating Ames' notice with the date as before. The same advertisement appeared in the Boston gazette (Edes & Gill) and the Massachusetts gazette and Boston post-boy (Green & Russell), Dec. 21, and in the Massachusetts gazette and Boston weekly news-letter, Dec. 24, with the note: "Those that purchase to sell again must be careful to buy those that are printed by the above printer; as there are some almanacks out with Dr. Ames's name thereto that are very erroneous, especially i respect to the roads and stages .." -.
