"A book with the same title has been published by Mr. Weiss .. whence the author means to select, for his own work, what appears to him the most excellent; as well as from the works of Mess. Campe and Salzmann."--p. [v].
Last four pages contain a list of books for sale by Folsom, among which is an edition of Ovid's Metamorphosen, livri X, which was published in 1790. All of the other works listed were published prior to that date. This evidence places the likely date of publication later than the date of [1789] suggested by Evans.
Although additional volumes may have been planned, none has been located. Evans entry 22344 was evidently based on an advertisement for v. III-IV.
