Supposed to have been addressed to No'l Bouton, marquis de Chamilly. "The French translation of the lost portugeuese originals has been ascribed to G.J. de Lavergne, [comte] de Guilleragues and also to Subligny" (NUC) - Parallel French and English texts.

The English titlepage, bears the statement: the second edition.
