Nathaniel St. André was in 1726 involved in the case of Mary Toft, who gave birth to seventeen rabbits, and the pamphlet was apparently printed with this in mind; the pamphlet contains St. André's allegations that he was in 1725 poisoned by persons calling on him for help.
The bookseller's name in the imprint is fictitious.
