Description
vii, [1], 152; 62; 48; xii, 190 p., [2] leaves of plates : 2 ports. ; 8°.
Note
Contains neither letters to nor from Pope; the 'Muscovian letters' were also issued separately (ESTC T27032)

The two portraits seem to differ between copies: "Mr. Pope Horatius Anglicanus," signed: "Kneller pinx." "Parr sculp." (Grolier 31); "Mr Addison," signed: "Sr. G. Kneller pinx."; M.Vder Gucht sculp." According to Griffith, at least one copy has a portrait of Atterbury instead of Addison. One of L's copies has a different portrait of Pope (Grolier 29)

Woodcut head- and tail-pieces; woodcut factotums

"Sober advice from Horace, to the young gentlemen about town" has its own separate title page with a mock imprint but pagination and register are continous. "Lettres Moscovites" has its own dated title page, pagination and register

Some copies contain a four page catalogue of new books issued by Curll at the end entitled "New books printed only for E. Curll, in Rose-Street, Covent-Garden, viz."

Some copies have the following pagination: vii, [1], 152; [5], 52-62; 48; xii, 190 p. (i.e. the "Sober advice" is bound in before the "Letters written by King Henry the VIIIth"
