Probably lacks final leaf (D4) Gk dates [1725?], but more likely to be ca. 1720. Election referred to is probably Wallingfor by-election of Dec. 1719. Dedication to Sir R. Steele (a relative by marriage of Scurlock) refers to withdrawal of Drury Lane Theatre patent (of Jan 1720). No mention is made of any eclesiastical appointment for Scurlock, who was appointed Rector of Merthyr (at Steele's bequest?) in 1723
