- The first line of the first numbered stanza is "May heavenly mercy lend an ear,". Dating rest on Jacob's address "near the Square", at which he was from c. 1774 to c. 1780; the next known address is Pettycoat Lane in 1789. Verify beginning of "Children detest ..." as the HAFm copy is mutilated
