- Vol.2 has the titlepage: 'Christian biography: or, a collection of the lives of several excellent persons eminent for faith and piety, chiefly from the works of the Reverend Dr Bates, and Mr Howe'.
A reissue of the edition printed for James Waugh in 1766 with the title: 'Biographical collections: or lives and characters, from the works of .. Mr. Baxter, and Dr. Bates', with cancel titlepages, an advertisement leaf inserted after the titlepage to vol.1 and two final advertisement leaves to vol.2. The final errata leaf of vol.1 has been pasted to the flyleaf, obliterating the advertisements on the verso for books printed for James Waugh.
