Vol. 1 is dated 1767, vol. 2 dated 1773, and has the imprint: "printed for the author", vol. 3 1779, and with the same imprint.
This eccentric three-volume set comprises publications which were separately published at various periods and not always present in the set nor even in the "correct" volume: 'A synopsis or general view of the works of Plato', 1759; 'Io, a dialogue of Plato, concerning poetry' either 1759, or second edition, 1768; 'The greater Hippias', either 1759 or 1771, doubtfully attributed to Plato; 'The lesser Hippias', 1761; 'The banquet ... first part', 1761; 'The banquet, ... second part', 1767; 'A dissertation on the doctrine of Heraclitus', 1775; 'The first Alcibiades', 1773 and 'The second Alcibiades', 1776, these two not in fact by Plato; 'Philebus, ... first part', 1779, and 'Philebus, ... second part', 1780 (the last two have continuous pagination and register); 'Meno', 1769; and 'The rivals', 1769.
