The life, and strange, unparallel'd and unheard-of voyages and adventures of Ambrose Gwinett, formerly well known to the public, as the lame beggar man, who in the year 1734, and for a long time after, swept the way between the Mews Gate and Spring Gardens, Charing-Cross. Containing, an acount of his being tried and convicted, and hanged in chains at Deal in Kent, for the supposed murder of Mr. Collins. His surprizing recovery after hanging in chains; his voyages to the West Indies, and being taken by the Spaniards, amongst whom he met with the supposed murdered Mr. Collins; their admiration in meeting each other, and proposed to return to England together. The accident that threw Mr. Gwinett in the hands of pirates; his extraordinary adventures with them; his being taken again by the Spaniards, and sent to Old Spain, and there condemned to the gallies.
