Note
A translation of: Tasso, Torquato. La Gerusalemme liberata.

In verse.

Leaf B1 comes in three states, in this order: (1) conjugate; stanza 1 line 1 "The sacred armies and the godly knight"; (2) as above, with a cancel slip with another version of stanza 1 beginning "I sing the warre made in the Holy land,"; or with traces of the now-lacking slip (3) B1 a cancel; stanza 1 line 1 "I sing the sacred armies and the knight"; the Argument also revised.

Signatures: A? B-2K? 2L?.
Uncontrolled note
Order of states given by STC is in error. - The cancel slip comes in two settings; "1" is over "n" of "in", or over space between "in" and "the"
