Note

An unauthorized edition, edited by Francis Atterbury, which is condemned in the prefatory note to Waller's "The maid's tragedy altered", 1690 (Wing W502).

Imprimatur on verso of title page: Licensed, Sept. 26. 1689.

"The maid's tragedy altered" is only a fragment, probably intended by Waller to form a new Act V, transforming Beaumont and Fletcher's tragedy into a comedy.

With penultimate advertisement leaf; last leaf is blank.
