"This edition was apparently set up from 3a [Macdonald 3a, ESTC R11197], which it resembles. It does not therefore contain the 'Postscript'. It was ... published by some enemy, but probably not by whoever was responsible for 3b [Macdonald 3b, ESTC R13599] as, except for the use of the word 'Usurper', it is not obviously offensive. In ... the first issue [Macdonald 3d i] Dryden's stanzas are very carelessly printed, e.g. in stanza 9 'Monarchs' is misprinted 'Monacrhs'; in 10 'Rewards' is misprinted 'Rewnads', and stanza 23 is mis-numbered 16. ... In [the second issue, Macdonald 3d ii,] 'Memory' in the heading of Sprat's poem has been changed to 'Happy Memory' in large lower-case and the text of the poem corrected.--Macdonald, H. John Dryden
