- Note
- A heavily edited edition of Fuller, Thomas: The worthies of England.
From the preface signed, G.S.: Dr. Fuller in his large history in folio, did go a great way in this matter, but here is included the lives of many more eminent heroes and generous patrons, (which I hope their memory may survive in succeeding ages) this being done with that brevity, which may be more beneficial to the reader.
Sometimes attributed to George Sandys. Cf. Halkett & Laing (2nd ed.). However, Sandys died in 1644 and could never have seen the folio edition of The worthies of England.
Text is continuous despite pagination.
