In two parts. Part 1, by Sir Robert Cotton, was originally published separately in 1627 as "A short view of the long life and raigne of Henry the Third, King of England". Part 2, by Sir John Hayward, was originally published separately in 1599 as "The historie of the life and raigne of Henry Fourth."

"The history of the life and raigne of Henry the fourth" has separate title page, dated 1642, and separate pagination; register is continuous.

"The history of the life and raigne of Henry the fourth" is identified as Wing (2nd ed.) H1232 on UMI microfilm set "Early English books, 1641-1700", reel 102.
