Wing's statement that this is the 2nd edition is apparently based on the following: Brushfield, "Bibliography of Sir Walter Ralegh", page 97, describes this edition as "Second edition". Armitage, "Sir Walter Ralegh, an annotated bibliography", page 9, describes 1698 edition a having "London, Printed for Mat. Gillyflower. 2d ed." below portrait. A 3rd edition was published in 1702
