Authorship of the Eik?on basilik?e was originally attributed to Charles I, but according to Madan (pp. 125-33) it was written by John Gauden who probably included some authentic writings of the king.

Printer's name from Madan; place of publication from Wing.

Madan identifies this as the "17th edition, first state"; in this issue the word "affaires", p. 1, line 3, is so spelled.
