Note
According to the preface, this work "was written to be inserted into a very short farce written by Mr. Ravenscroft, called The Anatomist, or the Sham Doctor".

Acted and often issued with Edward Ravenscroft's "The anatomist" (Wing R326). However, it is likely that this 1696 issue was published separately, since it has full preliminaries which repeat (on leaf b1) the prologue and epilogue printed on *a1v-*b1r of "The anatomist".
Uncontrolled note
Verify that there is a 1696 issue with signatures chi1 a? B? ?B-H?; such a 1696 issue would be more likely to have been added to Wing R326; there is a 1697 reissue of "The loves of Mars & Venus" with the shortened preliminaries (Wing M2955) which probably was issued with Wing R326, although it may also have been issued separately
