Note
Verify title and imprint. Primary copy at University of London, wanting title page. Title supplied, by Lu, in MS. "To the reader" calls this the "seventh edition", and has, in MS., "by Theophilus Metcalfe 1649". Included with this copy is a catalog entry: "'1643' (not 1645) 'according to old MS. collection.' A copy which was in my father's collection, bound up with some other systems, and is now in the British Museum, was dated 1645, and, according to my catalogue of the collection, was the sixth edition. Levy says his book passed through 55 editions, but it seems th only difference between the editions was the date at which they were issued."
