Note
By Alexander Ross, whose name appears on the title page to part 1.

In 2 parts, with an added general title page.

Part 1, "Leviathan drawn out with a hook. Or Animadversions upon Mr Hobbs his Leviathan. By Alex. Rosse", has separate dated title page, pagination and register. It may also have been issued separately. Part 2 is a reissue of Wing R1981, "Som animadversions and observations upon Sr Walter Raleigh's Historie of the world". It has separate undated title page with "printed by William Du-gard for Richard Royston" in imprint. Pagination and register are separate.

Part 2 was probably printed in 1650, since it was entered in the Stationer's Register on 21 October 1650. It was issued in that year as part of the 1650 edition of Raleigh's "The marrow of historie" (Wing R172). Cf. Pforzheimer, 825.
