The reply, sometimes attributed to Sheridan, may be attributed to Edmund Burke (cf. Todd, 'A bibliography of Edmund Burke', p.274).

A copy intended for distribution to members of parliament contains an advertisement warning that "very inaccurate copies of the communication made by Mr. Pitt ... and of his Royal Highness's reply, ... appeared in the daily prints, ..."

With engraved portraits of Pitt and George IV at head of sheet.
