A scheme to settle and establish the silk weaving trade on a solid foundation. And for the better employing the poor of this kingdom. Consisting of two parts, vis. I. To hinder effectually the Running and Smuggling of all foreign Wrought Silks, &c. II. To hinder the Debasing and Adulterating of our Manufactures for common Use and Wear; not by any outward Compulsion or Force, but by making it The Interest of every Manufacturer to fabricate good and durable Commodities; and to make it the Interest of every Particular Weaver to outdo each other in Perfection; and to secure to each Manufacturer the Credit and Reputation that will accrue to him from his Industry and Labour.
