Edward Midwinter was at the Looking-Glass on London Bridge between 1724 and 1729. See examples of his earliest and latest dated imprints at this address (ESTC T72300, N30069). Internal evidence in an undated edition of 'The secretary's guide' with imprint: 'London, printed by and for Tho. Norris: and sold by Edw. Midwinter, at the Looking glass on London-Bridge' (ESTC T208022) suggests that he may have been active there as early as 1720. However, another edition of 'The secretary's guide' dated 1721 only has Norris in the imprint (ESTC T222896).
- Uncontrolled note
- Midwinter married into the family of Norris the bookseller, active at this address, in 1720 (Plomer)
