SEWELL (JOHN), bookseller in London, Cornhill, 1754 (?)–1802. For some years partner with John Brotherton, whom he succeeded in 1775. Nichols says that his shop was the resort of "the first mercantile characters in the City, particularly those trading to the East Indies". He died November 19th, 1802, aged sixty-eight.
