MARSHALL (JOHN), bookseller in London, Bible in Gracechurch Street, 1695–1725. Probably a relative of William Marshall (q. v.), with whom he was associated in 1695 in the publication of a divinity book. [T.C. II. 547.] Dunton refers to him as "industrious and thriving John Marshall", and adds, "I heartily wish him success in his new purchase of 'The Western Martyrology'". [Dunton, pp. 216, 292, 355.] In addition to the works of the Rev. Thomas Beverley, John and William Marshall were publishers for Dr. Owen. John Marshall was still publishing in 1725.
