Wortley Montagu wears a blue ermine-edged coat over a gold dress, a jewled girdle and turban. WIth her is her son Edward, a female servant on the left, playing the Tambur (a Turkish lute), and a messenger on the right, presenting a letter. In the background is a view of Constantinople.
