ADAMSON (JAMES), bookseller in London, Angel and Crown, St. Paul's Churchyard, 1686–94. First heard of in 1686, when he sold the edition of Reliquiae Wottonianae , published by Tooke and Sawbridge. In the same year he published a Latin edition of St. Clement's Epistles to the Corinthians. [T.C. II. 179.] From this time his name is of frequent occurrence in the Term Catalogues. Amongst other works of note he had a share in Thevenot's Travels, 1687; the Latin edition of The Life of Cardinal Pole, 1690; and Geo. Ashwell's De Socino et Socinianismo disserlatio, 1692. His last book-entry occurs in Michaelmas 1694. [T.C. II. 534.]
