Token inscription: T * SPENCE <> 7 MONTHS IMPRISON'D FOR HIGH TREASON
R.C. Bell, in "Political and Commemorative Pieces Simulating Tradesmens’ Tokens 1770–1802," n.d., p. 227, suggests that the "guinea pig" in the inscription refers to King George III, and the "million hogg" (newly shorn yearling sheep) are the public, who have been fleeced.
