SMITH (ROBERT), printer and bookseller in Glasgow. At the Gilt-Bible, opposite to Gibson's Land, Salt-mercat, 1741. In the Salt-mercat, 1743. In 1741 he printed and sold Ralph Erskine's The Main question of the Gospel catechism; and Josiah Smith's Character, preaching ... of George Whitefield. In 1743 he was printing in company with Alexander Hutcheson (q.v.). Their joint imprint is found upon Samuel Rutherford's Trial and triumph of Faith, 1743.
